I have been here twice- once during Pumpkinfest and again recently. The service both times has been HORRENDOUS. The 1st visit it took 54 minutes for our food to come and when it finally did, wasn't that good. We chalked it up to them just being busy and decided to give them another try. BAD IDEA. We went there with a party of 8 on a night that was not very busy. First- It took 40 minutes to receive our appetizer. After 50 minutes we had only received 2 out of our 8 meals. Yes, they brought them out 1 at a time. After an hour we asked to speak to a manager. This is when our night went from unpleasant to the worst restaurant experience I've had in my almost 40 years. "Jeff" came over to the table and was unapologetic, condescending, rude, immature, and downright offensive. I have not written a negative review in my life. I am not one of those hard to please, impossible to deal with, sort of people. But when you make a mistake as a manager or employee of a business you apologize and attempt to rectify the problem, right? Not here. Jeff proceeded to raise his voice and accuse us of being disrespectful. After he told us that our food would be another 15 minutes (over an hour from when we ordered) we politely asked for the check. To our surprise we were still being charged for food that hadn't even arrived at the table yet as well as chicken tenders that arrived after we asked for the bill. When we disputed the charges Jeff inspected the chicken fingers to see if our 5 year old had taken any bites out of them because he "would have to charge us" if he started to eat them. It took all I had to leave the restaurant in a civil manner. Besides ruining our evening and wasting what should have been precious family bonding I felt completely disrespected and taken advantage of. The waitstaff apologized profusely as we left the restaurant for the actions of the manager. It really wasn't their fault. They had no control over the ticket times or the unprofessional behavior of their manager. We will, however, never be back to this establishment. It's a shame that the family friendly town of SL has this black eye of an establishment. It certainly does not represent the values and hospitality we've come to appreciate in this town.

Garbage!!!! As much as I want this place to be a viable option, it is not. I keep telling myself it will get better....NOPE. Service is the worst I have ever experienced!

The service was very poor. The attitude of the servers was one that they are doing you a favor by serving you. The manager /owner does not care about the customers. The best advice is do not waste both your money and time by patronizing this establishment.

Terrible service, terrible food, terrible experience. I will start off by stating that we went to this restaurant during a big festival, so we figured it would be a bit busy. It took about 10 minutes before a waitress came to our table and took drink orders. 10 minutes later out drinks came, one of which was warm, so we sent it back. We put in an appetizer order (mozzarella sticks) and about 30 minutes later they came. No silverware. No plates. No waitress assuring us it would only be a couple more minutes. Nothing. 20 minutes after that our food came. The onion rings were grease soaked. The burgers were over-cooked. The grilled cheese had no cheese (I'm attaching a picture of that lovely sandwich). We didn't finish our disgusting food. When we asked for the manager we were told he wasn't there. When we found a mistake on the bill the manager magically appeared and took 1.50 off out bill. I'm all for eating at family owned restaurants, but I can honestly say we will never return here!

Under new management. Went in last Friday. They had several specials and the salmon special served with roasted red skins and grilled vegetables was great. Especially for the price. New manager stated that they are also going to be getting additional tap handles soon and to look out for some great beers . Kitchen time was a bit slower than I am accustomed to, but overall a great experience. I will return, new manager seemed great and was genuinely concerned about the patrons and i did notice service was a lot more efficient than previous visits.

Do yourself a favor and don't bother with this place. Our sign should have been that there were like 15 people in the whole place on a Saturday night during college football season. At first you'd think there's no reason why it shouldn't be packed in here with the number of TVs and ambience but apparently everyone got the memo that it completely sucks. The drinks are inexpensive however the Bud Light seems like it's watered down and extremely carbonated. The servers are unmotivated and clueless about drinks or new alcohol. It's no wonder why though because the manager seems to wander about aimlessly, texting, watching TV, and frazzled. Perhaps I watch too much Bar Rescue but it seems like this place is in need of a John Taffer overhaul. I would hate for the corner to be vacant again but Sweetwater isn't bringing anything sweet to the nightlife scene in South Lyon.

Came to the hangout have some beers and relax with friends. Brought a deck of cards to play some drinking games as we threw back hard earned money here on pitchers and shots. Was told we weren't allowed to have cards at which point we decided to bring our business elsewhere. No cards no business. Bye! good day sir! You lose! You get nothing! Owner refused to take back our pitcher we had just ordered right before he told us we had to stop playing our game

This place doesn't deserve my time, but it does deserve my horrible rating. Due to that I'm keeping this short. Pros: cheap prices (which goes hand and hand with the quality), lots of tvs Cons: warm beer, horrible service, managed by the incompetent, decorated by someone who has schizophrenia, food that encourages you to diet, and an absolutely depressing atmosphere. I'd sooner go dumpster diving behind lakestreet than eat here. Could be the worst place I've ever been to. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

The Caribbean wings are out of this world. Service is on point and the beer is always cold. By far the best spot to catch a game in town. $2 drafts are a great deal and for lunch you can have a beer and meal for under $7.50. That's hard to do at McDonald these days. Overall, it's great value and I will continue to give them my business.

Returned with a couple friends for drinks after a friday highschool football game and were seated right away. that was probably the only good thing of the night. our drink orders were taken and arrived in a timely fashion, but our waitress wasn't personable and always looked like she had other things to do. my mozz sticks weren't anything special, and while I loved the hot fudge cream puff, we had an issue with a chocolate cheesecake dessert and green fuzz. that dessert was replaced but the reason we got for the issue was that 'these things happen in restaurants." not a fan of passing off the blame. needless to say I may limit my visits to Sweetwater.

South Lyon is a little town that offers few dining options, so when Sweetwater first opened I was ecstatic! Just about any place new that offered food and beer would be a win. Unfortunately Sweetwater was unable to meet my low expectations. Let's start with the positives: Lots of TVs, great selection of beers on tap, good cheese bread and pizza, and very reasonable prices. Negatives: The rest of the menu is average at best, the service leaves plenty to be desired, and worst of all--the restaurant appears dirty and unkempt. I live about a mile away and like to go out, so even with average food, mediocre service, and draught beer, you could easily win my business as a once-a-week regular. In fact, I've been to Sweetwater probably 8-10 times, accepting that I would be eating greasy bar food or an iceberg salad. But it was my last and final visit that steered me away for good. I walked in and sat down with two other guests for lunch. Every table around us was filled with crusty dirty dishes. Fries, condiments, paper products, and other food remains littered the floor. Way too many house and fruit flies for comfort. The restaurant was empty, the serving team was fully staffed, yet they did not take the time to clear the tables or sweep. We walked out and did not return. This restaurant has potential for a bar food, home town, watering hole, but until I see a big sign for "Under New Management," I do not plan to visit again.

Great food, atmosphere and beer prices! Great place to watch a game, lots of TV's all with a great view. No bad seat in the house!

First I'll state that we didn't even try the food. We had heard some poor things about the service, but were willing to risk it to try out Sweet Water. FAIL! As soon as we walked in we noticed a server walking towards the hostess station who had a bit of a scowl on her face. She said, rudely, that we could sit wherever we'd like to so she'd just follow us. I told her we'd take any place that worked well for a high chair (we have an 18-month old). She informed us - again, RUDELY - that they only have 2 high chairs and they're both taken. She seemed to be miffed at that point that we were hesitating about whether to stay or not ... so we just decided to leave. I can't speak to the food, but obviously the service was terrible.

Reading the reviews here, I wouldn't step foot in the Sweetwater. Fortunately, have gone in many times before finding Yelp. First off, the person that orders a dessert in a sports bar is an idiot. Wings, pizza, ribs and burgers are the type of food that is sold in great quantities, so freshness is pretty well guaranteed. Desserts are an offering that loses money for a place, due to them not being ordered. Children in a sports bar? Not a place that is inherently MODELED for the whole family night out. Common sense seems to be that Chuckie Cheese's would have been better for them. The Ribs, burgers, pizza and stromboli are worth a *itchy waitress. If you're unhappy with service, make it clear in the tip you leave. Either that, or get served at the bar. The barmaids are friendly and always a pleasure, even when placing a carry-out.

We were excited to see this new restaurant but after 3 visits there were just too many negatives to make a 4th attempt. First time we visited it was extremely hot and loud, food was fine but the waitress disappeared after our order was taken, despite being out of drinks we never saw her to ask for refills till she brought the bill, ended up having to take tylenol afterwords. Second visit the food was decent again but the service was slow and rude! It was a comfortable temp and not as busy so overall it wasn't horrible just bad service the waitress clearly didn't know the menu - we gave it a few weeks then gave it one last try last week and ..... WOW the 3rd visit was BY FAR the worst! The waitress was the worst of the 3 visits, rudely told us after we ordered chicken strips off the kids menu for our 3 yr old that they don't have child cups or even anything that would or could have a lid of anykind then her comment was "The owners just stopped buying them" and gave my 3 yr old a filled to the rim full GLASS cup of pop (umm BAD IDEA!!!!!!!!) Now I could have dealt with this much easier if she was even partially apologetic or we just ran out etc but sure did make us feel dumb and unwelcome by asking for a cup with a lid or kids cup or plastic cup (trying to not have a huge spill). The food again on that 3rd visit was OK, atmosphere here is nice too a bit loud due to all the hard surfaces (only if they are busy) but being treated so bad repeatedly by not one two but 3 different waitresses - we have decided there are too many other places to get decent food WITH decent service, will be interested to see how long they last... Restaurant 101 - Don't offer a kids menu and not have a way to serve a drink to a 3 yr old and what about carryout (we asked for many ideas or options that might work vs a full GLASS cup of pop) but apparently if I ordered a burger and coke to go I wouldn't get a cup with a lid hummmmmm... Train your staff to know the basics of the menu and what the items taste like, as well as some common courtesy lessons, we were certainly willing to be flexible but standoff attitudes are not what we or other visitors are looking for when we come to your restaurant.

I went to Sweet Waters today with my family for the first and probably last time. Prices are fair and has typical bar food menu, which is fine if the quality was there... Poor service and mediocre food at best. Pulled pork and curly fries were cold. Steak fries were greasy and undercooked as if fryer wasn't hot enough. Its nicer inside than I expected, but if they don't step it up South lyon will lose another resturaunt. Too bad... This location must be cursed because the proprietors of this business are going to fail just like the last 5 that have been in the building over the last 10 years.

If a sports bar with mediocre food is what you're after, this is a good pick. Friendly service and a welcoming atmosphere, but not a lot of creative food options. Just your basic neighborhood pizza, burger and sandwich joint.

The food was awful. Seriously awful. I'm not a food snob, I wasn't expecting 5-star at this place, but I certainly wasn't expecting the bland attempt they made at a palatable dish. Who messes up a plate of nachos w/chicken? Try putting some kind of seasoning on the meat for Pete's sake. I was beyond disappointed. I couldn't even make myself choke it down.

The owner/manger is an idiot!!! They run a 2 dollar pint of Killians all day everyday. Yet they are always out! This forces you to buy another more pricey beer. So is this on purpose? The burgers are cheap and good, not great. but good. I would eat there almost every day minus the fact they don't order enough beer to sell. So I got pissed and went to the South Lyon Hotel. I ate well during buck board and was out in 20 minutes. I have heard from other customers they too were pissed. If I ran a business and was constantly running out of a product. I would order more of the product! I will add the Staff is ever changing so no one ever gets to know what you like or want being a regular. this means orders are messed up 25% of the time. No matter how specific you are on the order. You can walk in and sit at the bar and See no staff for 5 minutes!. I have also walked out for this reason 2 times. I'm done with that place. No service = no business!

I see negative reviews but am not quite sure why. We went for lunch with a 4 year old during the Pumpkinfest. We were seated as soon as we walked in, waited on quickly. We ordered our drinks and received 3 full size drinks along with a carry out cup and lid for our daughter. We received our food in normal time. The Philly steak sandwich was excellent as were the antipasto salad, child's pizza and unique breadsticks. We will definitely return even though it is 45 minutes from our home. Was it on the loud side? Of course a bit - it is a sports bar. I do not sports but the activity of a sports bar did not interrupt our meal. An excellent visit.
